First Responders Benefit from Dovedale Dash

Villagers in Thorpe have been organising the ever popular cross-country Dovedale Dash for the last twenty-four years. Besides providing much pleasure and excitement to runners from all over the country who treat the race as one of the highlights of their year, the money raised goes to support local good causes. This year one of those was the Mayfield & Ellastone Community First Responders who provide ‘first-on-scene’ response to medical emergencies in the area. Harry Bourchier met with members of the Dovedale Dash committee to receive a cheque for £500 to support the valuable work they do in the local community. The presentation took place on Thorpe Pastures close to the start of the race, by (l-r) Donna Crump, Bob Evans, Cyril Challinor, Harry Bourchier and Barbara Wager.
